As the lead developer for a firmware update application in Azure's global FPGA fleet, I manage the complete software development lifecycle. This includes developing a C++ application from scratch, interfacing with FPGA firmware, and designing and testing the software. My responsibilities extend to overseeing the deployment across the entire Azure FPGA fleet, with a primary focus on enhancing efficiency and reliability.In addition to development and deployment, I coordinate with internal frameworks to ensure updates are triggered without compromising node health. I actively contribute to the strategic planning and execution of the deployment rollout, considering factors such as safety measures and deployment progression factors.To ensure a smooth rollout, I've implemented monitoring and reporting using Kusto queries and dashboards. This provides real-time visibility, facilitating proactive issue identification and contributing to the overall success of the deployment.

Current work includes the early stages of development on an application that drives firmware updates across the FPGA fleet in Azure data centers around the world. This includes interfacing with existing hardware libraries written in C++, as well as internal frameworks to trigger updates without compromising node health, and designing and building tests to be run on nodes in test clusters.

Designed and built a Python wrapper to communicate with an existing C library DLL, with the purpose of enabling rapid prototyping of hardware tests to reduce total development time. Developed several scripts using the wrapper to detect and solve known firmware issues on an FPGA. Demonstrated the cross-platform portability of scripts that use the wrapper by successfully executing tests on both Windows and Linux systems. Translated existing test scripts written in other languages (C++ and PowerShell) to Python to demonstrate the wrapper's ease of use and potential future applications pertaining to rapid hardware test development in emerging projects. Developed a telemetry tool that utilized the Windows crash dump to record the crash-time state of an FPGA, and built a WinDbg extension to interpret the crash dump data and display the results in a human-readable format.
