About Victoria Maclennan
Isn't life great when you are doing what you love everyday! I believe everyone in Aotearoa deserves the right to reach their potential in life and in business so my energy is focused on creating opportunities for people to thrive. After living the portfolio life for many years I have taken over the reigns of IT Professionals in 2022 as CEO. My vision is to help change the face of our industry - helping us collectively embrace manaakitanga, focus on diversity, create new pathways into the workforce, support reskilling and upskilling and help the digital technology industry solve large complex challenges like equity, sustainability and climate change. I chair a fabulous social change charitable trust, Digital Future Aotearoa digitalfutureaotearoa.nz. We work alongside local communities to support them raising the digital capability of Aotearoa with high quality, free and accessible education programmes. Our main focus areas are rural, Māori, Pacifica, Ōtautahi and South Auckland communities but our programmes (like Code Club) are delivered nationwide. I am really proud of Recycle A Device (or RAD) recycleadevice.nz and the Digital Equity Coalition Aoteaora (DECA) digitalequity.nz - two projects that started during lockdown in 2020 to help close the increasing large digital divide. I am the owner of the wonderful data services business OptimalBI and shareholder in a range of other great companies - but my focus is now with ITP. Personally I am on a journey to understand my privilege as Pākeha, and how I can best support positive outcomes for Māori which includes understanding, embracing (but not appropriating) language and cultural practices.Would love to connect.
