I am a New York state licensed clinical psychologist working as a clinician and as the Director of Child and Adolescent Services at the American Institute of Cognitive Therapy. I specialize in treating patients suffering from mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, impulse-related difficulties personality disorders, substance abuse, and various childhood disorders including ADHD. I work with children, adolescents, and adults using evidence-based treatments including CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and parent training. My foremost expertise is in adolescent DBT; in addition to treating high-risk teenagers individually and in group settings, I train other professionals in the theory and implementation of providing DBT to adolescents. I have extensive experience in helping patients across the lifespan struggling with relationship issues, LGBT issues, perfectionism, procrastination, difficulty regulating emotions, and problems related to particular life stages (e.g. school transitions, family transitions, college, and career). I also lead adult DBT groups for high-risk clients suffering from emotion dysregulation, am the director of our parenting skills training program, and run our Adolescent DBT program along with another senior staff member.
