I am a health and wellbeing assistant at Wheatley Care, a specialized provider of care and support services in Scotland. In this role, I work with individuals with alcohol-related brain damage, providing them with support and assistance to improve their quality of life. I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, and I apply my active listening and communication skills to build rapport and trust with the service users.I have a strong background and interest in public health, especially in women, child, and adolescent mental health. I hold a master's degree in global mental health from the University of Glasgow, where I learned about the social, cultural, and environmental determinants of mental health, and the challenges and opportunities for promoting mental health in low- and middle-income countries. I also have a master's degree in public health from Nitte University, and a master's degree in zoology from Mahatma Gandhi University. During my previous roles as a senior research fellow at All India Institute of Medical Sciences and a public health intern at Foundation of Healthcare Technologies Society, I conducted several quantitative studies and systematic reviews on health related topics, related to behavioral interventions to promote health, non-communicable diseases (Hypertension and CKD), maternal and child health, and COVID-19 induced infectious outbreak. I have developed strong research methods and analytical skills, specifically in evidence synthesis.I am a curious, observant, and resilient person, who enjoys working independently and collaboratively. I seek to make a positive impact on the lives of people through my work, and I welcome new challenges and learning opportunities. My goal is to pursue a career in global mental health research and practice, and to contribute to the evidence base and policy making in this field.
