Young business professional and mental health advocate; graduated in Summer 2022 with a BA (Hons) focused in Modern Languages (Spanish & Chinese) and Business from Newcastle University.During the enjoyable completion of a summer internship (2021) at Ocado Group, I gained invaluable experience in a fast-paced, global people function. The specific areas included Payroll, and Culture, Diversity & Inclusion, while utilising tools and resources such as Workday and the Business Disability Forum. On returning to Ocado Group as a Business Management Graduate, I took on crucial roles firstly in the change management of a multi-million pound Finance transformation programme, and secondly as a Project Manager and Business Analyst pioneering an IT process improvement project. Key skills include stakeholder management, communication, organisation, prioritisation, presentation and problem-solving.I’m currently working as an HR administrator in the education industry across two academies, looking forward to developing professionally in the HR world having started my CIPD level 3, whilst making a significant difference to others’ experience in the workplace.

    During a 3 month internship at Ocado in the People function, I first experienced Payroll for a few weeks, then moved on to the Culture, Diversity and Inclusion team for the remainder of the duration. In both areas, I learned the full functionality of Gsuite.In Payroll, I managed the HR Systems to ensure the data was up to date and accurate, or finding the breakdown in process and taking the steps to rectify, in order to achieve huge progress towards the rollout of automated payroll through Workday.In C&I, I led the foundations of a disability review project, which involved the evaluation of our current global people and recruitment policies and procedures; the use of the Business Disability Forum to research and collate up to date disability practices, such as inclusion passports; the collaboration with people partners and other colleagues organisation-wide. Secondly, I partnered in creating a toolkit for the global re-rollout of Employee Resource Groups, both positive action groups (reflecting Equality Act protected characteristics 2010), and interest groups to further the inclusive and empowering environment of Ocado. Leading on from the communities project, was the creation of content for the allyship pages for the internal Culture and Engagement hub, focusing on gender equity and cultural awareness, and collaborating with the community chairs on this.I thoroughly enjoyed making a difference with all of these transformational projects and processes, as well as developing a user-friendly tool for the measurement of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, utilising the GDEIB levels, and also diarising religious celebrations, public holidays in all Ocado's operating countries, and awareness days in a global culture calendar.
