I grew up in a ‘big league’ household. The son of a 16-year MLB player, my love and passion for the game of baseball developed at a very early age. I am fortunate to have experienced the game from every conceivable angle…as a fan, collegiate and professional player, coach, broadcaster, and as an executive.Dynamic, authentic, forward-thinking, bilingual leader and trusted advisor with vast experience in the professional sports marketplace. Experienced communicator & marketer with a demonstrated history of working in the sports industry. Owner of a startup apparel brand called Big Fly Gear. Strong communication & media professional skilled in contract negotiation, team building, brand development & marketing, sports play-by-play, event management, sales, organizational development, fan/customer engagement & development, and stakeholder relations. Experiences gained, and results achieved, while holding key revenue-generating/fan-facing positions in Minor League Baseball, Arena Football League, National Hockey League, arena management, and professional golf industry have provided me the foundation to effectively transition to a front office executive role with a 'Major League' organization.Who am I and what am I all about?At 32, and while working part-time as a Customer Service representative at Nordstrom in Boca Raton, Florida, I decided I wanted to become an MLB announcer. With no prior experience, I embarked on my journey by moving to Newark, New Jersey to work for the independent Newark Bears as Assistant General Manager and analyst on their broadcasts. Prior to my first season, I became the lead announcer. A month into the season, I was elevated to General Manager and handled both roles simultaneously. That Fall, I began working with MLB Radio in New York hosting a radio show that lasted 2+ years. After just 2 seasons of independent baseball as an announcer and General Manager, I was hired by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2003 to become their radio analyst.In January 2021, after 18 years as an Emmy-award winning MLB TV announcer, I walked away from the broadcast booth in pursuit of my next ambition…to thrive in a leadership role for a professional sports organization.One can talk about stepping outside of comfort zones in pursuit of higher ground/opportunities, it is simply another to put a plan in motion and do it. I am a doer!
