Junior Front End Developer at SOGO Tecnologia | Alfa GroupIn this opportunity I was able to better explore the skills I gained in the previous one because at Sogo I had the opportunity to work in teams and work on three different projects, with different technologies and libraries that I had not used until then, such as Angular 6, or React with part of the components implemented as a class component where I learned even more about react, the components life cycle (I also started a blog sharing that knowledge about components lifecycle), component performance optimization using hooks and teamwork. In addition to learning new ways to style my components with several different approaches, such as tailwindcss, sass, etc. But I think what made this opportunity different was the atmosphere of sharing knowledge that was naturally created in the projects I worked on. I have never been into a team with people so interested into learning, sharing and developing new skills. There we agreed in our free time to talk a little more about technology, about books, courses, video classes that we shared with each other about clean code, software architecture, tdd, CI/CD, among other very relevant topics in our area. One thing I might add too is that I had the chance to do code reviews for my more inexperienced colleagues and to have this exchange with the most senior people on the projects I worked on. There I really learned the power of relationship, friendship, teamwork and sharing whatever we can.The last thing I might want to add is I never had issues working with people of design or backend (even if most of the people speak of having issues with people of different areas). But I might add that at SOGO we managed to do our work and make our suggestions without having any trouble by doing so. In there we could speak out the things that we thought that could get better and people would understand feedback as a gift

I embraced a new experience, in a market that I had no experience, where I could learn in fact what feels like programming a real world project, looking forward to delivering a secure and scalable code. At the beginning I learned a lot from the leadership of my college senior developer, he taught me many things about clean code, the importance of design patterns, and realizing we don’t know javascript as much we think we do. I also learned to be humble and admit my mistakes and ask for help when needed, also learned things about javascript, react, redux, styled components, jest testing library, and many other things. Today I work alone in the team, because my college got hired by another company and the challenge now is different, with more freedom, without the senior’s supervision, I am responsible for the whole thing, and It has been a great opportunity to learn more about React and javascript daily.
