About Vidhya Y
I am one of the co-founders of Vision Empower http://visionempowertrust.org/ - a not for profit enterprise incubated at IIITB to bring education in science and mathematics to students with visual impairment. I am currently a Research Fellow at Microsoft Research India. I have interned at Microsoft Research India and executed projects in collaboration with various research labs . I have received best paper award for the Paper "We can go anywhere’: Understanding independence through a case study of ride-hailing use by people with visual impairments in metropolitan India" submitted at the prestigious CSCW conference Published by ACM, and have received honourable Mention award for the Paper "CodeTalk: Improving Programming Environment Accessibility for Visually Impaired Developers" submitted at the prestigious CHI conference Published by ACM. As a student of the Masters in Digital Society program at IIIT Bangalore, I graduated as the gold medalist from my batch in 2017. I have also received numerous awards such as Tie Aspire Young Achievers Awards ,Namma Bengaluru awards , Reebok Fit to fight Awards and many more.
