Math and Science Club was a small garage class started by my brother and I in 2007. This idea of teaching neighborhood children math and science while doing hands-on experiments became popular and was acquired by Science Gurus in 2012, where its name officially became Science Lab. I came up with a syllabus of different topics to teach 4th through 6th graders, while coming up with slides and fun hands-on experiments to keep them engaged. We have spread to different locations around the Bay Area while training other high school students to also become instructors. In the summer of 2016, we had our first Science Lab Internship, training 12 interns to become instructors, teaching fall, spring, and summer sessions in Fremont, Milpitas, and Cupertino. In the summer of 2017, we expanded to 17 interns and look forward to spreading to more locations in the Bay Area.

In this fast-paced internship, a great amount of information about bionformatics, targeted therapy techniques, cancer genes, and other pharmaceutical-related content was given to us through a series of highly distinguished guest lecturers and videos. In addition, we researched and gave a presentation on a selected cancer as well as a final report and presentation on a cancer gene - using databases and many sources to describe their oncogenes, how they are expressed in the body, what drugs target the gene, its signaling methods and pathways, etc.

I conducted the 2020 ESO virtual competition. All other Science Olympiad competitions in the country were canceled but I redesigned, organized, and conducted a virtual format of the competition, where over 300 students participated. Conducting this virtually had many challenges due to the numerous sub-events as well as all the sub-events being team events, but it was a success while still keeping the same schedule and rules as originally published.Elementary Science Olympiad is a team competition that promotes science activities and teamwork with a hearty atmosphere. Teams compete in both theory and hands-on science events. Having participated in the first ever Bay Area Elementary Science Olympiad competition in 2008, I continued to help out with judging and scoring as the years progressed. In 2012, I took the reigns of the event and have been directing it ever since. I choose the events, manage the team registrations, train the judges, and run the show on the event day to name a few. I also travel to various schools to spread the competition to beyond the Bay Area. We have grown from 3 teams to 40 teams in the past 10 years. Currently, our organization is trying to spread the competition to inner city schools who might not know about the event, as well as doing what we can to waive the registration fees so that we can spread science to the less privileged students. I also designed the bayareaeso.weebly.com website and have continued making changes to adapt to our new programs.

As an elected senior senator, I represented my peers in SCU's student government. I was also appointed Facilities & Committee Chair.My most successful project was leading the Hyundai Challenge initiative in school, where SCU won $100,000 towards sustainability competing against LMU and Pepperdine. As one of the first students to know about this competition, I organized the student efforts and worked tirelessly, which led to our victory.

Apart from dancing and teaching Bharatanatyam (Indian classical dance), I also help with the lighting in other students' solo dance performances. This involves analyzing their rehearsals, figuring out the necessary lighting changes, and implementing the cues during the performance. I have worked with various technicians in many theaters across the Bay Area, including Ohlone College, Cubberley Theater, Burlingame High School, Jewish Community Center, Woodside High School, and Mountain View Center for Performing Arts.

TEDxSantaClaraUniversity is an annual event, where over 550 students and adults attend to hear both student and professional speakers talk. I helped with ticket sales and promoting our 2018 TEDx event.

Using my experience as a former nationally ranked and competitive table tennis player, I coach young kids in the sport. This involves teaching and correcting technique while also making the game enjoyable to the new wave of talent.

I was selected as one of the 10 student workers to help with the prestigious Putnam Math Competition. This included packaging, organizing, and preparing the materials to send to universities across the world.

I completed my Arangetram (analogous to a graduation) in the Indian classical dance form, Bharatanatyam, in 2015. An Arangetram is a 2-3 hour solo dance performance, accompanied by a live orchestra, and in front of a crowd of 500 people. I have continued dancing and teaching young students the art form in my dance school. I love working with young kids as it is truly a passion of mine and also helps me become a better dancer as I go back to the basics.

Palo Alto

This internship was such a wonderful opportunity, where we not only learned about the cardiothoracic system and its functions in lectures, but also got to perform surgical skills on a pig's heart. We performed suturing, dissections, knot tying, coronary bypass graft, and aortic valve replacements.
