As Director of Education at Encode, I’ve had the privilege of leading initiatives that combine education, advocacy, and technology to address the societal impacts of AI. A highlight of my work was organizing a summit in the U.S. Senate, where I collaborated with policymakers like Senators Dick Durbin and Ted Cruz to address critical issues such as deepfake exploitation and AI regulation. Additionally, I traveled to India to lead workshops on AI Bias and Algorithmic Justice, engaging with over 500 engineering students and partnering with institutions like IIT Madras. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to ensuring that technology serves society responsibly and equitably.

This summer I worked under Professor Wing Kam Liu at Northwestern University, researching Mechanistic Data Science. I researched Machine Learning algorithms, and Neural Networks, specifically feedforward neural networks, and convolution neural networks. I modeled a feed-forward neural network for pattern recognition using python and created mini-app using Stream-Lit. As part of this course I made a Podcast Series for the course and a poster presentation.

Science Reach is a club at my school that facilitates the Illinois Science Fair (IJAS). My research has been focused on renewables, specifically solar power. I have also researched electromagnetic radiation and how it can be prevented using certain materials.

Workshops & Teaching:I love teaching and I am a huge advocate for providing access to education. Currently I run free STEM based workshops for younger students virtually with topics such as Scratch, renewables, HTML, and more! I used to run the workshops locally, but due to the COVID-19 situation, I switched to virtual. I realized that by making that change, I was actually able to reach more people, people who otherwise may not have been able to attend. Many students across the country have a large inclination towards STEM, but due to a lack of resources are unable to learn it and pursue. By making these workshops free, students only need a laptop to join and learn!

2nd Place at Global Startup Competition-Product Idea: Simplify the consumer process to identify recalls, safety hazards and/or allergens at time of purchase or consumption. The mobile app allows the user to scan/take a picture of a product and provide all product info.-Prototype built using Swift for the frontend app, connected to REST APIs built on Go lang that exposed the datasets modeled in a MySQL database hosted on AWS
