The Concord Plaza Hotel is a 323-room property located in the heart of Concord, Contra Costa County, near Buchanan Airport and the Skylinks at Buchanan Fields golf course. Currently, only 90% of the rooms are operational due to ongoing renovations, as we prepare to rebrand the property into the Courtyard by Marriott Concord and Fairfield Inn Concord. I report directly to the Director of Sales and handle in-house sales and marketing for this landmark hotel. Despite its prime location, which naturally attracts guests, being near to national parks, 2 Golf camps, and the Concord Pavilion, our goal is to exceed a 90% daily occupancy rate and achieve 100% in catering sales. The Concord Plaza is right in the middle of known wineries in Napa, Sonoma, and Livermore valleys. To reach our sales targets, we are collaborating with the Visit Concord team on promotional room-night initiatives. The hotel is situated approximately 29 miles from San Francisco International Airport. An ideal setting for both leisure and corporate travel.

I promote Spain as a tourism destination in SE Asia, Australia and New Zealand. I handle the trade side of the promotion for Spain in these markets. I do presentations to the travel agents and tour operators, and I organise workshops and seminars to equip the travel trade members in this area of coverage to better sell Spain, for leisure travel and MICE. The most challenging part of my job is to constantly build a bridge and link the travel trade in these markets with the travel trade players, inbound operators and service providers in Spain. I happen to love my product so much, it has been more than 20 years, and whenever I come to visit and showcase Spain to the travel agents and the media, it's like I'm seeing it always for the first time. I love to watch and distribute our promotional videos for Spain to the travel trade members in the area.Spain is a great tourism destination, with a variety of products and services to offer for every type of traveler. I love the culture and the language, and the greatest factor that sets it apart from the rest of other long haul destinations ---- is it's people, specifically those in the service line. I managed Lotus Asia Tours Pte. Ltd. doing outbound and inbound operations, selling air tickets and tour programmes.As the General Manager, I was in charge of over - all day to day operations of the travel agency based in Singapore, my first job when I moved from Hanoi, Vietnam in year 1998. The bulk of the business was for Inbound Operations and Sales, bringing many Italain groups into Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. I was able to grow the outbound operations, focusing and targetting on the expatriate community in Singapore, selling air tickets and tour programmes within Asia Pacific and other long haul destinations.

I was part of the pre-opening team of the Hanoi Press Club, a joint venture organization between the Vietnam Journalists' Association and a French Group. The Hanoi Press Club is a five star banquet facility and corporate services entity right in the heart of the capital city of Vietnam. My role as a Corporate Services Manager, involved management of around twelve Vietnamese staff who manned the Business Centre attending to queries from new businesses coming into Vietnam.
