Viet graduated with double degrees in Banking and Corporate Finance from the University of Nebraska in 2009. He began his career as a teller in the call center division of VNDIRECT Securities Company (VND), which was his family's business. In 2012, he took the opportunity to work as a Project Coordinator for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Vietnam Ministry of Finance (MOF), where he served as a financial expert for the "State-owned-Enterprise Reform and Corporate Governance Facilitation" program. With a budget of 123.83 million USD, this program funded some of the biggest SOEs in Vietnam. During his two-year tenure, Viet built strong relationships with government agencies, ministries, and SOEs. After completing his role with ADB and MOF, Viet returned to VND and held several positions, including Chief Strategy Officer, Director of Customer Service Center, Director of Discount Brokerage Division, Director of Strategic Marketing, and Director of Private Accounts & SMEs. From 2013 to 2021, he also served on the board of IPA Investment, Financial Service Solution joint-stock company, Bac Ha Power joint-stock company, and other companies. In 2021, Viet joined DNP and Tasco Holding as a member of the Advisory Board for the Chairman and Managing Director of investment and development, managing the group’s subsidiaries real estate portfolio, which includes Tasco (HUT), Savico (SVC), Vinaconex 9 (VC9), CMC Tiles (CMC), and Ninh Van Bay Real Estate. Viet led and completed the acquisition of Groupama Insurance company for Tasco, later renamed Tasco insurance company. Since 2018, Viet has co-founded several start-ups with his partners, including ITECO Joint Stock Company, which specializes in Liquefied Natural Gas, and Encapital Financial Company, which specializes in financial technology for trading stocks and derivatives. Encapital recently obtained DNSE as a stock-broker firm and raised its chartered capital to 3,000 billion Vietnam Dong. Overall, Viet has extensive experience in the finance industry and has established a strong network with the government and SOEs. He continues to contribute to the growth and development of various companies in Vietnam, including his start-ups.
