I am a research and development engineer with strong experience in manufacturing, machining, and coatings. My work focuses on machining advanced materials, improving tool performance, and creating better coatings for industrial applications. I have a solid background in mechanical engineering, supported by my PhD from IIT Madras.I work at Addlife Coatings Pvt. Ltd., where I develop HiPIMS (High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering) coatings and design cutting tools. I aim to make tools last longer and work better by testing different coatings and using advanced methods like Finite Element Analysis.Before this, I worked as a Senior Research Fellow at IIT Madras and DRDO. There, I worked on diamond-like carbon coatings for defence components, improving their performance and lifespan. I also used machine learning to predict wear and optimise coating processes for better results.Some of my key achievements include:1. Publishing research papers on machining and tool wear in well-known journals.2. Developing cryogenic machining techniques to improve composite materials.3. Filing a patent for friction-reducing coatings on high-carbon steel.4. Hands-on experience with advanced tools like SEM, Raman Spectroscopy, and Abaqus.I am passionate about applying research to solve real-world problems in manufacturing. I am also skilled in project management, data analysis, and technical writing, which helps me contribute to both research and industry effectively.
