Profile bio

About Vijaykumar V

I am a researcher based in Chennai. Between 1989 and 2024, I have done research in various areas. Most notably, I have researched the Enneagram and J Krishnamurti's teachings. I have developed a beautiful system by which one can understand and transform individuals. I have worked in six companies for long and short periods. I have studied and worked in the US. For eight years, I researched organizations as to why they fail, the role of leadership, work and learning. I have many qualities that an advanced leader is likely to have. I am authentic, adaptive, compassionate, loving and kind. Through my years of inner work, I have reached healthy levels of psychological development. I have developed qualities such as wisdom, empathy, adaptability, sensitivity, curiosity, engagement, enthusiasm, compassion and acceptance. I now want to coach interested clients in exploring themselves and reach higher levels of health in their lives. I work for an Indian start-up called Apna Vikas that is interested in taking personal growth to the people of India. Specifically, we have a questionnaire that tells your personality type, a report about personality and a chatbot to talk to. I am also associated with an English company which does coaching and organizational development. I am interested in conducting online mentoring sessions in a wide range of topics to those who wish to gather psycho-spiritual knowledge to use in developing young people or women. I found academic research inferior, corporate work stupefying and non-profits to be inefficient. In fact I have stayed away from mainstream life as much as possible. But I do have a view of what an alternative life looks like and the thinking, possibilities and capabilities it endows. If this interests you and you want to talk about it, contact me.

My over two decades of research on the Enneagram has told me that these stresses are largely due to the personality. We use the same default personality that doesn’t serve us anymore. However, if one understands these stresses as due to culture, education, marriage and job they become a lot lesser. Furthermore, one wants to grow in life. The Enneagram says that one can acquire radically different traits if only he is willing to do some inner work and get a serious look at his outer work. These movements can completely change one’s perspective and imbue him or her with capability not seen before.Leadership now is different. One cannot have thoughts about the past or be caught in authority and hierarchy. There is no room for command and control. One has to examine his beliefs and values and completely come out of old patterns of thinking. If he does that he gets qualities like peace and harmony. He becomes compassionate and adaptable. He works from the present and looks for the emerging. He becomes better with people as well as with things like strategy and innovation. Leadership today is also about caring for the planet. Without worries and feelings of inadequacy. This kind of a leader I am interested in developing by coaching based on J Krishnamurthy’s teachings and the Enneagram.Organizational development can be simple in principle. We need to greatly reduce the conflicts which can be done by understanding the personality traits that cause those and then put the company towards a path of integration, evolution, transformation or emergence. This seemingly obvious but powerful approach is often overlooked due to confusing alternatives available in the marketplace and in the minds of leaders. I would be more than pleased to help organizations to try it out and see some quiet yet dramatic shifts in the outcome. Show less

I reflected a lot on J Krishnamurthy and intensified my research on the Enneagram. In the process of doing all this I evolved as a person, developing a different kind of leadership and making several interesting contributions to Enneagram research. I became a thinker and an ideator, also finding time to do machine learning research. I spent time in the gym by making friends and simply hanging out. I worked three months at Maveric Systems, an IT company in Chennai, improving their induction program. I also tried my hand at other small jobs and spent eleven months with a start-up doing different things. At the end of it all, I became reasonably confident how to transform people and companies. Starting from the Ramakrishna Mutt where I read a lot of books, I went on to the Krishnamurthy Foundation of India. I spent the following years reading over hundred books and taking part in discussions every Sunday evening. I also started reading the Enneagram through websites in the Internet. I also spent a year on Spiral Dynamics. All these provided a great foundation for psycho-spiritual knowledge and eventually my transformation from a competitive and aggressive man to an intelligent and normal individual. Show less
