To combat climate change, the Dutch government wants to reduce the Netherlands’ greenhouse gas emissions by 49% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels, and a 95% reduction by 2050.Its easier to talk the talk than to walk the walk. But at the current circumstances, we have no choice but to run. Its is of paramount importance to switch to a more sustainable lifestyle, to show our children how beautiful the world is. It is with that determination that I dedicate my knowledge and skills in the persuit of a better future.As a Graduate Apprentice, I'm was right at the heart of every action happening within the substation. It gave me lots of insight into the power generation, transmission and distribution systems. I'm familiar with operations and maintenance of high voltage power equipments, control panel circuits, measuring and testing instruments, electrical drawings and schematics, safety equipments, SCADA, communications, protective relays.My Bachelor project is the biggest source of inspiration I had and it had been a great influence on my character and values. The project titled “Prototype of Voltage and Frequency Stabilizer for Variable Speed Wind Power Generator”, was funded by ‘Centre for Engineering Research and Development’ (CERD), an establishment by Government of Kerala. The project aims were to stabilize the voltage and frequency of the generated power from wind, in the desired limit using power electronic switches. I had hands-on experience in designing, prototyping and testing various power electronic components like a Boost regulator to maintain the voltage level and a three-level inverter used to set the frequency. I also designed the power electronic driver circuit. The gate signals were given using a programmable microcontroller based device called the Arduino. Being the co-founder and CEO of “Alila Gifts”, a Startup which specializes in eco-friendly handmade cards and gifts, gave me the ideal sandbox to hone my skills in the managing sector. The responsibility of strategy meetings, business planning, customer interaction, resource management and task assignments was on me. I also had the privilege of training 2 assistants during a period of company expansion to ensure attention to detail and adherence to company policy.Over the years I've picked up various skills and techniques which includesMATLAB SIMULINK, LabView, CodeSys, EAGLE, C, C++, LATEX, Energy transition modeling, Stakeholder analysis, Business case development, Literature research and reviewing, Arduino, raspberry pi.
