About Vikram Bala

From expansive Rube Goldberg machines to quirky Scratch programs, I've always had a knack for expressing my creativity through design and analysis. After dissecting animals for the first time, I also developed an enthusiasm for biology and medicine. However, I soon realized the power of combining these passions: advancements in data and technology have the potential to revolutionize healthcare. At the University of Michigan, I'm taking rigorous coursework in bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, and computer science. In addition to learning valuable technical skills, I'm also developing a deeper understanding of the intersection of these fields and their applications.I've also completed healthcare internships at the National Cancer Institute, Strata Oncology, ResMed, and Lynx Dx. The projects I've worked on involved analyzing healthcare data and making conclusions to improve patient outcomes. From these experiences, I've continued to develop technical skills and soft skills such as problem-solving and communication.I aspire to pursue a career at the intersection of healthcare, data, and technology as I realize its potential to make a positive and lasting impact. I'm currently seeking a full-time role where I can continue to expand my horizons as I work towards my ultimate goal of improving lives through innovations in healthcare.
