It needed a profound experience of Layer2 & Layer3 protocol stacks and Multi-core network processors operating in Multi-Gigabit Capacity. Being one of the starting members of Cavium-Based Projects at Aricent, I have helped Nokia Siemens Networks transition their BSC/BTS/MSC to full IP based Systems from the traditional Circuit switched networks. I had designed many building blocks of Aricent’s Octeon Eco-System including real-time packet processing, complex packet flows using Octeon Specific programming and Algorithmic approaches. This needs a good awareness of the intricacies of working with Octeon NPs and challenges of writing software for newer 4G/LTE protocols on these.Earlier in Aricent I had contributed to enhancements of several Layer-2 and Layer-3 protocols stacks such as IEEE 802.1ad (VLAN), QoS, LACP, MPLS and RTP and was therefore a contributor in the Aricent’s ISS protocol stack. The building blocks of these projects require a deep knowledge of the Linux kernel in general, Networking Sub-system to be specifc and MIPS64 Architecture, C/C++, java, gdb, clearcase, git tcpdump and Wireshark.
