Continuing the previous role acting as a mentor and advisor to junior lawyers and other staff, my new additional role, in fact the central role, was growing the clientele and developing new business opportunities. Applicability of R&D cess on cross border transactions pertaining to R&D in IT/ITES, Telecommunication industry. Advisory on issues pertaining to proprietary products, IPR protection and registration in India. Representation before TRAI. Reply to notices etc. Drafting, vetting and negotiating, Consultancy Agreement, Agency Agreement, Software License Agreement, Procurement Contracts including IT Procurement Technology Transfer, TM Assignments, Patent licensing etc Advising clients on auction of 3G wireless spectrum to private operators. Advisory on advertisement, media and competition laws.

While pursuing my law degree from University of Delhi, I was handpicked by the Firm's Managing Partner to join them as an intern. Was initially assigned Legal Research work with full access to go through the Client files and also the opportunity to express and share my view and findings with senior members of the Firm. As I garnered experience in how best to develop an intervention with the high level of complexities involved in drafting commercial contracts, I found myself actively involved in the vetting, negotiations and drafting of commercial contracts. By the time I completed by Law degree in 2002, I was deft in drafting variety of complex contracts and briefing Senior In-house Counsel's and Senior Advocates practicing at various High Courts and Supreme Court. My role also involved vetting and drafting of various plaints, pleadings, replies, claims including arbitration claims and counter claims, applications, affidavits, written statements, rejoinders, questionnaires. written arguments etc. Also had the exposure in vetting and drafting of notices, arbitration claims and counter claims. Handled PAN India Consumer litigation including legal notices for world's leading Mobile Manufacturing Company. Created, managed and coordinated on daily basis with a team of 200 plus external advocates (PAN India) to represent and protect Client's interest before District consumer forums/ State Commissions/Civil & criminal courts/MRTP. Was actively involved in drafting and vetting replies, filing WS etc. In appropriate cases, presented Client's In-house Counsel case fact sheet (CFS) to approve in-principal approval for out of court settlement. Negotiated and executed settlement deeds, application for case withdrawal.
