Main Duties: •Process mapping of finance (reporting, budget, period end process etc) and operational processes and sub-processes –‘as is’;•Benchmarking of ‘as is’ to ‘what good looks like’ – gap analysis;•Preparation of detailed project plan, clearly defined deliverables, with time lines;•Re-engineering of financial accounting processes to ensure that a robust financial system and framework is in place;•Leading the change process by engaging all FD / Heads of Finance and managing the allocated finance resources;•Identifying and prioritising specific systems and process improvement;•Working with IT, identifying and addressing ERP system weaknesses to improve core data integrity;•Leading business engagement and communication within both finance and the wider business.Achievements:•Developed new Management Information Pack (electronic pack);•Improved Period- end close – from 8 days to 3 days; •Re-engineered the period- end reconciliation – saving 8-10 man days, eliminating more than 200 spreadsheets;•Managed to interpret the high level project objectives into defined work packages;

Audit and Controls•Set up of Audit function and embedment of financial controls within the Grocery Group (multi site and multi country); •Preparation of Grocery Group annual risk based global audit plan in consultation with, the Director of Financial Control, Group CFO and CEO;•Allocate / perform and report on audits across the group in accordance with the Financial Control Framework across the globe including Europe, America, Asia, Africa; Follow up on previous Internal Audit Reports;•Risk Register: Implementation and review of risk register process across the (multi site / region) divisions;•Stakeholder Management - Manage / Review and report on risk management process / risk register across the group - quarterly meeting with ABF Group FD, Director of Financial Control, Group CEO & CFO;•Management reporting: Reporting to senior management on key issues on a timely basis - Quarterly audit update meetings with Director of Financial Control and Group CEO. Regular update / meeting with Group CFO;•Implementation of financial controls in new integrated companies: Leading the implementation of financial controls during integration / acquisition i.e Jordans & Ryvita;•Support business with ERP decisions during merger and integrations ;•Manage overseas audits performed by local auditors, especially where English is not a native language i.e. Japan, Vietnam, Thailand etc – ;•Implementation of web based Audit Management software (MK Insight) across multisite and multi country;

•Preparing financial models and reports on the financial operations of corporate partners, making recommendations and implementing and monitoring the changes, by interacting with BAU in Sri Lanka and India / Change Control team in UK / IT Team in UK.•Control / Governance: Building up control framework and embedding it within the finance processes & sub- processes.•System Improvements - Review of financial systems of key corporate partners – HSBC, Abbey, Nationwide etc.•Providing lead / managing BAU (Business as usual) members in UK, Sri Lanka and India in mapping the process for various financial operations and reviewing the DPM (data process maps). •Managing all changes from ‘End to End’. This included significant changes such as securing system feed in place of manual ones from external parties.•Working closely with various stakeholders – Corporate Partners, Actuaries, BAU members, Financial Accounting team, Planning and Reporting Team, Reconciliation Team.•Presentations (oral and written) to stakeholders and various levels of management.•Weekly reporting to Head of Process Improvement / Project Manager.
