Kotak Mahindra Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, offers India dedicated investments products to Institutional Investors, family offices and HNW's. Key deliverables is to target US based clients looking at India as an investment destination and offer them solutions across asset classes viz. India equities, fixed income and alternate investment funds.

I oversaw the management of the entire subdivision within the Private Client Group component of Kotak Securities, including supervision, training, and mentorship of subordinates; fund management; client relations; business development; and research & strategy.I had full authority with regard to day to day decisions regarding the management of my team, provided valuable inputs in terms of company policies with respect to training new employees, determining salary structures and performance-based bonuses, product and service pricing and strategic planning for future expansion and cost cutting and had the authority to hire, promote, or fire subordinates.I was responsible for training my entire team on how to accurately assess the private wealth market and to improve their understanding of Kotak’s investment products in a manner most effective for presentation to HNI clients.Together, my team oversaw and supported approximately 3000 client portfolios with assets totaling more than USD $240 million and contributing almost 5% of total revenues to the firm.

I was the cluster manager, priority banking (Privy League) for suburban Mumbai branches of Kotak Mahindra Bank.Led the top team in the priority banking division, which would advice clients for their investments across all asset classes.

I began my impressive career in the Kotak Group when I joined Kotak Securities as an Executive Trainee in the Primary Markets and Distribution group in June 2003. I successfully carried out the distribution of all the major initial public offerings (IPOs) from 2003 until the end of 2004 through the direct as well as the sub broker channel. The IPOs included corporations such as Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd., NTPC, and Tata Consultancy Services. I also achieved targeted market share for all the IPOs we handled and singlehandedly managed the retail and high net worth (HNI) funding for IPOs during the same period.In June 2004, I was promoted to Relationship Manager and was a founding member of the Financial Planning Group (FPG) of Kotak Securities headed by Mr. B. Gopkumar. The FPG was primarily responsible for selling the Portfolio Management Service of Kotak Securities, launched to target the mass affluent segment of the populace. The minimum investment required was 1 million rupees, or approximately $15,000 USD. The FPG operated as a pseudo private banking outfit when KMBL had not yet launched its priority banking section. I was instrumental in building up the asset under management (AUM) during my tenure as a Relationship Manager, at one point reaching an AUM of 640 million rupees, or approximately $9.5 million USD.In 2007 I was promoted to a Team Manager role, and led a team to be among the top 3 in the FPG, reaching an AUM of 10 trillion rupees, or approximately $150 million USD by the time FPG was integrated into KMBL’s priority banking division in 2009.
