My first and only placement as an IT Consultant at FDM. I primarily work on the Pingit project as a manual tester where my team aims to release new features and updates to the iOS and Android app store each month. I coincide within the SIT team where the app, database, and gateway are tested once it’s built during the scrum phase.Duties include the following:Testing new features/updates E2E once we start working on a new release. This is done by executing scripts written in Quality Center by the scrum team.Communicated defects and issues with the developers, designers, test leads and scrum teams who initially worked on the feature. There is another SIT team in Pune, India who also work on the same scripts which I’m also in daily communication with.I execute test scripts and track the progress of existing defects until fixed or a developer has any queries. I trained numerous new starters on the day to day processes as well as helping other Barclays staff members familiarise themselves with the Pingit app. I started doing all this after only being on the Pingit team for a couple of weeks. I would familiarise how certain features of the app function thoroughly thus specialising in those features from the front and backend. This meant I could help other staff members in those areas.Each issue we faced, be it with the app, gateway, database, I would troubleshoot the issue so that I can find the cause. This would then be communicated to the right teams if I couldn’t fix the issue myself.

As a customer assistant at Sainsburys, I was a vital member of the customer assistant team on the counters where I assisted customers using his communication skills by making sure I kept the customer engaged and happy with the service provided. As well, I helped Sainsburys achieve sales targets and reduce loses by working in a team to maximize companies’ sales; one way I accomplished these was by taking charge of organizing the display layout and replenishment of stock so that customer could frequently have wanted products and alternative choices available.Skills Gained:• Confident with interacting with new people on a daily basics. • Introducing customers to new products by have excellent product knowledge.• Worked in teams to ensure tasks for our department where completed at a satisfactory mannor at the end of each trading day in terms of stock count and cleanliness by deligating tasks.

Tested several titles on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita, using various testing methods. In doing so I was able to find issues within the titles and input them into the Sony bug tracking database called DevTrack. Skills Gained:• Functional and non-functional testing techniques • Exploratory testing • Regression testing• Re-testing• Compatibility testing• Compliance testing• Confirmation testing• Soak testing• Load testing• 100% playthroughs• Created test plans for a game on the PlayStation 3 which a team of up to 20 people used for the duration of the games testing period.• An essential part of a core testing team in each of the games I worked with.• Being able to communicate with developers in different countries such as France and USA as they needed more information about certain bugs in order to find and rectify big issues with games.• I frequently trained new team members various day to day tasks in terms of testing at Sony such as how to use DevTrack, showing them how to perform different testing techniques and eventually delegating tasks to them. I also taught the new colleagues how to follow various test plans in order to compete them to a satisfactory mannor that would then ensure the testing phases where quickly and effectively performed by more team members who were up to date with their skill sets.• Frequently reporting his tasks for the day, progress at the end of his shift and my finding, back to test leads on various games I helped test.
