Powerlink is a State Government Owned Corporation, which owns, develops, operates and maintains the high voltage electricity transmission network that extends 1700km from north of Cairns to the New South Wales border. Responsiblities: - Strategic development of Powerlink’s outsourcing strategy, including cost evaluation and risk analysis of each strategy, to delivery Powerlink’s capital and operational program of works in a safe and cost effective way.- Establishment and ongoing management of Powerlink’s outsourcing strategies.- Development and management of 4x project delivery and 18x technical specifications.- Identify opportunities to introduce efficiencies for delivery of project works.- Provide technical support and commercial guidance to project teams.Achievements:- Successfully led a team of 10 engineering specialist to establish a panel of preferred contractors to deliver Powerlink’s substation works.- Successfully managed a team of 8 engineering specialist to establish a panel of preferred contractors to deliver Powerlink’s transmission line refurbishment and life extension works, namely replacement of steel, nuts and bolts, repairs to structure foundations, blasting and painting of steel structures.- Developed and implemented efficiencies in delivery of projects, namely: - Developed template documents with standard wording and examples. - Clearly defined Powerlink and contractor deliverables and timeframes. - Clearly defined quality control points (Hold/Witness points) in technical specifications. - Develop standard construction Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) aligned for quality compliance, which eliminated the review of ITPs for each project and provide consistence across projects teams and contractors.

Responsibilities:- Management of transmission projects from the inception (proposal, scoping and estimating) to project delivery (planning, design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning) and handover.- Managed the program of works.- Mentored and provided support to other project managers.Achievements:- Managed multiply projects and project teams ranging from 10 to 20 persons and contractors to successful deliver programs of works and individual projects at Powerlink. - Delivered the program of greenfield substation development works (Sumner, Algester and Abermain Substations) to augment the electrical transmission network in SEQ , whilst engaging with key stakeholders including Energex, Brisbane City Council and local community. - Successfully upgrade the high voltage electrical connection of Rio Tinto’s Yarwun refinery, which included the development of Larcom Creek 275/110kV substation and rebuild of the existing Yarwun 110kV substation. - Managed the urgent replacement of two substation transformers (which failed with days of each other) within a tight timeframe to restore electrical supply to the town of Collinsville.- Planned and coordinated network outages to reduce the number and duration of network outages, efficient use of resources to reduce cost.- Managed the key stakeholders to provide a proposal document with detail scope of works, project plan, project staging and network outages for the rebuild of Gladstone substation. Key stakeholder include: - Powerlink - Ergon Energy - Gladstone Power Station (jointly owned/operated by three parties)
