Resident Assistant (RA) is a part-time, paid student leadership position for students at the University of Alberta to work for Residence Services while living in residence. RA is responsible for creating a safe and supportive living environment for their peers. RAs help build community by organizing social, educational, and recreational programs, and they serve as a resource for students, offering guidance on academic and personal issues. They are trained to handle emergencies, mediate conflicts, and enforce university policies, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the residence halls.Through my experience, I've honed skills in time management, event planning, leadership, communication, and conflict resolution, all while maintaining a positive and approachable presence for my peers.
