ITES & Financial Crime Mgt

Currently, I am engaged in designing, developing and implementing re-engineered business processes for an infrastructure company with 100+ employees. The engagement calls for configuring 'Value Added Services' by distilling accumulated knowledge and experience within the group, simultaneously mentoring the core group for improving business performance in the areas, viz - Sales & Marketing, Projects & Services, HR and Finance (Ph-I ECT Dec'09). With such re-engineered organisation, Ph-II would be productising and automating the solutions / services into modular formats using SW / IT tools. Thus, ITES in the modular formats would be main differentiators for the company to deploy the solutions / services globally in the EU / SEA and other markets (Ph-II EST QI - QII of 2010). At this stage, the management of the company plans to invite investor(s) to strengthen financial and management bandwidth to implement company’s vision - 'To be a Global Leader in providing outsourced solutions and services to Mining and allied Industries' and help achieve operational excellence for its clients to produce desired quality products 'Consistently' with optimum resources.

Launch of Softspin UK Limited - I was Head UK Operation for SW based solutions and services - responsible for setting up company and business operation in the UK for engineering services (modelling and optimisation), for software testing, and Mobile computing development and consulting services specific to BASEL II banking; also formulated strategies for growth. Here, I successfully pioneered a concept of Outsourcing to Offshore (Dual-Shore) project management, transfer of projects execution (remote delivery organisation) successfully out of Pune(India) for mobile product development, and telecom testing services; and had managed an acquisition of a local Indian company (an investor).

IT Management (Onsite/Offshore) / Embedded SW for intelligent fire alarm / BMS, Role involves: - Setting up offshore centre for embedded SW development and support for Rafiki global Business; - To take over infrastructure, resources and knowledge transfer from 3rd party vendors, - To manage “Outsourcing to Offshore” activities for New product development, and Manufacturing, viz - intelligent detectors and BMS; explore marketability of solutions and services!

ITES (services in engineering business) Formulate Global Vision, prepare business plan & strategies, build team, organise funding (VC); and set up Sales, marketing and operations in the business area of Multiphase, complex fluid flows – CFD Solutions & services on Fluent, gPROMS & Reactor Engg services using custom developed SW tools, Mentoring Training services in CFD.

SW Product development and Marketing: ITES (SW Product Development, Solutions and services plant operation business) – Implement Global Vision by building and executing business plan & strategies, building a multi-skill teams to develop Software Product ( on .NET / Java technology) and set up Sales, marketing and operations in chosen business area. Within first 14 months, formulated, developed and launched software product (solutions framework) called “Real Time Plant Information and Remote Monitoring Systems” for Process plants and first successfully applied to Biofuel plants (VC funded venture - interacted with US, UK and others); successful merger with Technology and Engineering company (May-2007).

Successful launch of iCelerate UK for ERP & AMS: Successfully launched iCelerate UK Business Operations in the UK, and grew the business to over GBP 2.0 million as on Dec’2003 (success story on Invest.uk website). During the period, I developed 3 key sales relationships. Established the business processes for iCelerate UK. Successfully managed the outsourcing of our non-core functions (BPO) to India, thus bringing great cost benefits to UK operation. Before moving to UK, established Oracle offshore development center with infrastructure, and a team of engineers for ERP practice (Oracle); achieved within 4 months prior to moving London (May 2001) to launch iCelerate UK operation.

SW based Engineering Solutions – CAD/CAM/CAE & Internet Services (Start up): Management of Sales of CAD/CAM/CAE products in India; and was responsible for setting up offshore IT services, product development & operations (e.g. engg SW testing and services); (VC dealt with SICOM / Pvt Investor).Developed team of 38 engineers with skills, infrastructure & processes for Strategy and Creative areas (Graphics designers, 3D content creators); Application developers (Certified IBM professionals - Web sphere suite with Java, Microsoft / .NET) & software testing. Managed a DOT COM Portal & Application development viz - Auto [buying & selling of re-furbished cars/2-wheelers] www.iuc.com; order fulfilment for restaurant & groceries [www.foodarcade.com], for travel segment & for healthcare [for patients medical history & records] for US firm. Also, created strategic alliances and managed business partners with global blue chip organisations (e.g. IBM, Autodesk, and Cimatron)…

Project Management & Engg (~8 yrs): Managed & executed more than 65 turnkey projects (from 0.8 to 4 million USD) in India & Indian subcontinent.Process Design, Engg. & commissioning of continuous process plants (~7yrs): Provided leadership to group of max 73 engineers. Business Development (~3 yrs): Negotiated contracts / agreements with APV (USA/UK), Pieralisi & Fenco (Italy), and Drytec (UK).International Marketing & Sales (08/97- 07/99): Managed international business with complete responsibility of marketing, sales & engineering of Brewery plants, Fruit processing plants, Evaporation plants & Drying plants in E. Europe, C. As Chemical engineer, I worked on industry-sponsored projects at research lab, and developed a technology involving catalytic oxidation of toluene to manufacture benzaldehyde; Crotonaldehyde to Maleic anhydride; water absorbing polymers from starch. The projects were done in the Chemical engineering headed by Dr R A Mashelkar, FRS, and world known scientist and chemical engineer of India; and worked under internationally known scientists.
