Payments Bank is a relatively new initiative to enable financial inclusion in India. The technology solution for this dynamic and nascent business involves building a very stable and secure core banking solution keeping in mind all banking regulations and pairing that with an innovative customer interface including multiple payments protocols. The bank's systems use the traditional NEFT and RTGS protocols and integrate with almost all of the new protocols defined by NPCI including IMPS and UPI. The solutions involve integration with Payment Gateways and the Bharat Bill Payment Service and Bharat QR. The bank also offers enterprise solutions around NACH and APB services. As a global KUA, the bank's systems integrate with the UIDAI eKYC services to provide paperless KYC for customers.Post merger of IDEA and Vodafone, I managed the merger of the Vodafone m-Pesa system with the bank's systems. Subsequently, post the decision to close the bank due to the unviable financial model, I managed the 6-month long systems closure and archival process, including setting up a backup system to manage customer claims.
