A study was done to understand various aspects of liquid propulsion systems and the idea was extended to the application of Tripropellant Rocket engines for SSTO applications. The entire propulsion system was carefully studied and different cycle configurations were considered namely ’staged combustion cycle’, ’Gas generator cycle’ and ’Expander cycle’ ,also each component was selected based on required operational parameters. Simulation and Validation of NASA B2 nozzle - To study the effect of throat contouring ,a variant of baseline engine B2 was considered. The problem involved the simulation of compressible flow atsupersonic speeds. The domain was modelled and subsequently analyzed using ANSYS FLUENT. The results of simulation were validated against the experimental wall pressure values of static fire test and were plotted. A mesh independence study was also carried out to further validate and reduce run time.
