Operations Manager
CurrentInternational company listed on the Dubai Stock Exchange, offering a range of logistics and transportation solutions.Key responsibilities:• Report to the Regional Branch Manager and responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Johannesburg branch, which runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.• Reports to and collaborates closely with the Regional Manager and Operations Executive. • Overall management of 74 staff – including senior supervisors, team leaders, supervisors, drivers, freight processing, and data capturers.• Operation of a large fleet – ensuring optimum routing and scheduling. • Managing large volumes of deliveries and collections – Inbound and Outbound freight, being moved via air and road freight. • Working to strict service level agreements including overnight time-sensitive deliveries for clients in the medical sector.• Strategic and operational planning to meet SLAs, optimise growth, save costs, improve service, and reduce risks.• Monitor budgets and ensure that revenue targets are reached.• Continuous improvement strategies.Achievements:• Worked with a team to find significant cost savings, surpassing the initial target by 100%. Achieved this by simply changing the last-mile delivery model between agents. • Reduced overtime costs by improving operational efficiencies.• Built a high-performance team by training and upskilling.
