I’m a resourceful data engineer with 2+ years of experience managing, processing and large multi-omics datasets in the field of bioinformatics. I help researchers by effectively managing their data and pipelines so that they can spend more time on analysis and identifying insights in their data.• I develop cluster-run, post-processing pipelines for 5 different types of genomic experiments (RNA-seq, WGS, Cas9 and Cas12 screens, and HLA-typing) that wrap open-source pipelines (e.g. Nextflow, poolq, mageck, etc.). These pipelines then feed data into a Postgres database following an ELT paradigm where data is subsequently transformed in-database using python Data Build Tool (dbt).• I manage over 200 TB of raw genomic data across tape and disk storage, optimising the way data is stored and organised which reduced data usage by 34% and tape recall times by > 75%.• I develop Rshiny data portals that query the above database, providing researchers easy access to clean subsets of relevant data accompanied with effective, interactive data visualisation.I am interested in opportunities where I get to save the time and money that researchers spend preparing and processing data which could be better spent on downstream analysis.
