My last position was as the National Distribution Manager for KIA Motors, South Africa. This role was the culmination of my experience thus far, but also afforded me the opportunity to develop my organisation and management skills. For almost 5 years I was the senior management accountant/financial controller for Kia Motors South Africa's national parts distribution centre and was responsible for the full financial function.Operating successfully in this role called for a fusion of management, administrative and sound financial skills.► MANAGEMENT – I was responsible for overseeing the debtors and creditors functions- I was responsible for overseeing the ex vendor inventory clerk, ensuring that the process ran smoothly with customer satisfaction the number one requirement► ADMINISTRATION – This aspect comprised various organisational and financial tasks, including analysing data and generating reports► FINANCIAL – I was responsible for all financial processes and controls within my department which included daily ad hoc reporting and analysis

For just over two years, I was employed as a Cost and Management Accountant for Franke Water Heating Systems.Bringing my experience and attention to detail to the fore, I worked to assess and improve internal controls for successful inventory management. Furthermore, I conducted monthly analyses of expense accounts to ensure cost reduction and control.CORE DUTIES• Prepared the annual departmental budget• Debtors and creditors• Oversaw stocktakes and generated stock movement reconciliations• Completing month and year end procedures – ie, account reconciliations and analysis• Drafted assorted reports, comparisons and statements• Managed full fixed asset register and service warranty costs• Obsolescence management and forex gains and losses

Buidling on my practical experience, I had the opportunity to act as a Cost Accounting Lecturer for the University of Johannesburg.In this capacity, I prepared lectures, designed educational activities and created training materials for students. Other functions included managing examinations, liaising with management and other key stakeholders, and grading student assesment.

For nearly two years, I worked as the Head Creditors Clerk and General Management Assistant at Pick n Pay Family Store - Retail. This role combined supervisory, accounting and customer service duties. Working in a retail store called for responsive customer service skills to assist customers and resolve any enquiries. As I held a management role, I handled staff supervision both in the office and on the floor.
