My name is Dr. Vikki Carpenter and I am an assistant professor in social science at Heritage University in Toppenish WA. I attained my PhD in Psychology from Keiser University focusing on intersectional discrimination, self-efficacy and skin tone. I also hold an MS in criminal justice from University of Cincinnati, as well as BA in criminal justice from Washington State University. I am a firm believer in building an equitable space for all. To create this equitable space we must be self-reflective, be willing to truly serve, recognizing our unconscious biases, strengths and areas that need growth. We must know the structural systems that we interact with so that we can create paths for change within and among those systems. We must be willing to be uncomfortable and willing to sit in that uncomfortability to that we can experience true growth. We must be willing to step boldly into the space that facilitates change, while remaining humble to the cause.Remember to stay humble, always try to be kind (you never know what others are going through), and lead with a servants heart. ~Cheers!
