At the NI Assembly I was responsible for submitting oral and written questions to ministers, preparing supplementary questions to ministers, liaising with special advisers, producing motions for debate at the Assembly, preparing press statements and speeches, managing diary, preparing information for committee meetings, providing research material to MLA, attending various community meetings throughout the constituency, speaking to and answering questions from students visiting Parliament Buildings. I have also previously written political platforms for South Belfast News on a five-weekly basis on behalf of the MLA and operated surgeries in Belvoir, Finaghy and Donegall Road.At the constituency office I was responsible for dealing with constituents’ queries (throughout the South Belfast constituency) on a wide range of issues including planning matters, housing problems, completing benefit application forms for constituents, preparing cases and representing constituents at DLA appeals, managing diary, updating MLA’s website and social media sites, producing Newsletters and contact cards, liaising with community groups to raise awareness of issues on the ground.
