I was responsible for creating and maintaining staff and resident records, monitoring stock orders, ordering uniforms, assisting with recruitment and carrying out other administration tasks as required.

I was responsible for managing the constituency office, which gives me the opportunity to have daily contact with local people in South Belfast. I am responsible for dealing with constituents’ queries on a wide range of issues including planning matters, housing problems, completing benefit application forms for constituents, preparing cases and representing constituents at DLA appeals. monitoring constituency cases to ensure prompt resolutions, preparing press statements and managing Emma’s diary.

At the NI Assembly I was responsible for submitting oral and written questions to ministers, preparing supplementary questions to ministers, liaising with special advisers, producing motions for debate at the Assembly, preparing press statements and speeches, managing diary, preparing information for committee meetings, providing research material to MLA, attending various community meetings throughout the constituency, speaking to and answering questions from students visiting Parliament Buildings. I have also previously written political platforms for South Belfast News on a five-weekly basis on behalf of the MLA and operated surgeries in Belvoir, Finaghy and Donegall Road.At the constituency office I was responsible for dealing with constituents’ queries (throughout the South Belfast constituency) on a wide range of issues including planning matters, housing problems, completing benefit application forms for constituents, preparing cases and representing constituents at DLA appeals, managing diary, updating MLA’s website and social media sites, producing Newsletters and contact cards, liaising with community groups to raise awareness of issues on the ground.

I was a member of the four Council committees and had a place on the Leisure Park Board, Castlereagh Hills Golf Club Board and Single Status Working Group. I was Chairman of the Planning Committee in the final year of the legacy Council.

I purchased a licence from Le Club Francais to teach languages to primary school children both in-school and after-school. I organised and facilitated language clubs in schools in Lurgan, Portadown, Craigavon, North Belfast, South Belfast and West Belfast. I managed all aspects of the business including marketing, issuing invoices and completing tax returns. I also provided tutoring services to French GCSE students on request.
