Where does one start by telling about chapters of one's life in a short description? This can be difficult and tricky! Everyone is looking for something different, and I hope to answer the basic questions.Some say I live in the middle of nowhere; I say I live in the middle of everywhere. Central Illinois is convenient for travel. Whether for pleasure or professional reasons, I can be almost anywhere in a matter of hours, if not minutes.I'm a sociable, optimistic, hardworking person with a deep passion for agriculture, education, training, and design. My joy comes from motivating others. I'm fulfilled when taking on a range of responsibilities in different settings. My diverse work experience, volunteer leadership, and everyday life have equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in almost any position. Being married to a farmer, Marc, for 36 years, growing corn and soybeans and raising Boer goats. When needed on the farm, Marc knows I'm there with my boots on and a smile—okay, the smile is there most days. Marrying a farmer has grown my passion for agriculture. I'll talk and lobby for anything agricultural to those with little agricultural knowledge and learn from those with more awareness and experience.Am I open to new employment in this chapter of life? It depends on the position. When we discuss the opportunities available, you will find I have had a fascinating journey filled with diverse experiences in various occupations. I've enjoyed the different aspects and challenges and am always open to new challenges and learning experiences. Every opportunity brings something unique, and I'm always ready for the next adventure. Agriculture is not just a profession for me; it's a passion. I'm proud to be an active part of organizations like American Agri-Woman, Illinois Agri-Woman, and the Woman Changing Face of Ag Conference. As one of the nine participants in the inaugural Road to Influence Leadership Program, I'm committed to being a voice for agriculture and driving positive change in the industry.As you can tell from my short summary, I look for challenging and fulfilling roles that allow me to utilize my strong work ethic, volunteering, and independent thinking.
