My current role includes overlooking the operations of the Ex related divisions like, Testing & Certification, Inspection and Training and Personnel Competency. Training & Personnel Competency:• India’s first and only IECEx RTP (Recognised Training Provider)o Conducting training for IECEx Certificates of Personnel Competence Scheme (CoPC). • India’s only Remote Assessment Centre to conduct the theory and practical assessments for IECEx Personnel Competency at our facility in Boisar. The aim is to save the participants a lot of time and money that would be required for traveling abroad to appear for the exam.• 100% pass record in the 1st attempt for candidates trained for IECEx CoPC scheme Unit 001 assessment. Karandikar Laboratories has developed India’s first Certificate E- learning program on Safe Operations in Hazardous Atmospheres. • It has been largely designed in line with the Internationally accepted IECEx CoPC Units 000 & 001. This foundation course is intended for all levels of personnel working in hazardous (explosive) areas, irrespective of their educational qualification.Inspection:Our Inspection Division is the first that has received NABCB accreditation as a Type ‘A’ Inspection body for conducting Area Classification and carrying out inspections to ascertain and certify the safety integrity of the electrical equipment installed in Hazardous Areas Testing and Certification-In October 2008 KLPL entered into a technical co-operation agreement with Baseefa Ltd, UK. In 2009 test facilities were commissioned to test Electrical Equipment in line with IS/IEC 60079 series of standards, and Safety testing in line with IEC 61010 and 61950. KLPL thus became the first private sector laboratory in India to get NABL accreditation, BIS, PESO and IECEx approval for its hazardous area testing facility. Today our Laboratory on the basis of its ExTL accreditation for ALL protection concepts works with associated ExCBs like SGS Baseefa and DNV-GL (Presafe).
