GEPIL as a firm was going through major changes when i joined the company. As a result i got to work under the supervision of our National Project Head and reported directly to the Chief Managing Director of the company. Responsibilities:- Research and Development towards understanding and improving existing system at Co-Processing facilities across the nation.- Design & Development of a Special Purpose Machine for mixing of hazardous waste to convert it into fuel. (Prominent problems related to safe operation, Hazard prevention and control were addressed) - Establishing clear communication between projects, operations and 3rd party fabricators, assuring correct implementation of modifications suggested.- Designing and providing General Arrangement diagrams for modifications in the system.- Preparing SOP and Safety manuals for Modifications in existing machines and introduction of new machinery at shop floor level- Creating up-to scale 3D models of the facilities using Solidworks to aid in better decision making during design.Achievements:1. Co-Processing Facility - Focused on the Design and Development of the facility.- Created an optimal plant layout for facilities that can process up to 240 MT/Day for a footprint of 1800 m2, with easy integration and future expansions in mind. The company implemented the said layout at their latest and largest project yet, located in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.2. Effluent Treatment Facility - Focused on the implementation of Cleaner Production for member industries.- Supervised a drive organized by GEPIL in order to educate and guide 50+ members of the 60 MLD common ETP on the importance of cleaner production in the textile industry at Palsana, Gujarat.The company managed to reduce the load on the ETP from 60 MLD to 48 MLD over a period of 1 year.

- Two month Internship focused on studying Designs, Selection Criteria and Manufacturing of Pumps used in power-plants.- I also spent some time at BHEL, studying Manufacturing, Assembly and Dynamic Balancing of Gas & Steam turbines.

My first ever industrial experience got me closer to observing an multinational team of engineers at work. During my summer internship at the NTPC, i studied the operations and maintenance of a gas based power plant in Surat, India.
