At American Forests, I develop and lead workforce initiatives in support of the Tree Equity movement. Our vision is that Tree Equity will be achieved in the United States by a diverse and thriving urban forestry workforce, representing the highest standards of individual and community well-being. With an extensive background in conservation and organizational leadership, I lead our team in developing, delivering and scaling programs and services that integrate education and workforce development, targeting youth and underserved communities. My approach interweaves strategic partnerships with hands-on support of local, community-based programs centering on the engagement of youth, young adults and returning citizens. Our goals as a national organization are to support local programs and their staff in achieving direct job training and placement goals, and to support individuals in their climate career journeys. We've seen growth in both program reach and participant engagement, thanks to a purposeful blend of curriculum development, hands-on activities and employment connections.
