I am the Tech Lead for the Books to tax feature/workflow in Quickbooks Accounting software which Accountants use to review Clients’ Accounting data, collaborate with clients to ensure accuracy and completeness, and export to different Tax solutions for filing with various Countries’ Government agencies. Led several projects that make the Books to tax workflow seamless for Accountants across different Countries while making the process compliant with local Accounting practices. To accomplish this, I was heavily involved in- liaising with Product Management and Product Design Leads- conducting tech feasibility studies for business requirements- designing Technical solutions to meet the needs of a global market- working closely with Global Capability teams to reuse existing capabilities- breaking the problem into sizable chunks to lead a team of 8+ Engineers in implementing the changes.- Ensuring Operational excellence from front end to back end for monitoring and alerting by measuring customer interactions, ensuring availability, resilience and scalability of the backend systems.- leveraging Generative AI capabilities to create the "Done for you" experience for customersThe projects I worked on include- Solving for Variable accounting periods in UK vs rigid Tax years in existing system. This required changes from ground-up and changes across the tech stack.- Integration with Intuit Protax Online solution to export the Accounting and Tax mapping data- Easing Identity verifications of Small businesses in the UK for FRS102A Reporting standards.- Using Generative AI to show Impactul insights to customers on their Balance sheet and P&L reports, while also automating Tax mapping to streamline manual processes.- Implementing Data Governance requirements across regions according to local laws- Auto carry forwarding documents from previous Tax years- Ensuring Peak readiness and Operational excellence for the overall feature

As a Software Engineer in the Australia PD Team, I work on implementing/enhancing several Quickbooks Online (QBO) Product components for Australian Customers(SMBs/Accountants) such as the AU Tax center, Sales/Purchase Transactions, Reporting, Cashflow, Tax returns, Banking, and Payroll onboarding experiences using different backend and frontend technologies such as Java, React et cetera. I am also the Technical owner of a Dockerised Spring boot Microservice, hosted on Kubernetes, that interacts with the Australian Business Register's SBR ATO Services to fetch Tax prefill data and e-lodge Customers' Business Activity statements.

Worked on various performance improvements for the Market Configuration Service (MCS), a microservice that facilitates externalization of config and fetches the “best fit” config based on the pre-declared variability dimensions corresponding values. One of the interesting ones is solving the Thundering herd problem, a phenomenon where multiple duplicate requests hit the service at the same time, by using Ehcache in a Cache as a SOR pattern.

The solution I co-developed solves these requirements byenabling teams to get, extract, combine, aggregate data, and output dynamically thus bringing Release Independence and flexibility for many features.
