Community Leaders Internship Director - Ballard Center

The mission of the Google Community Leaders Program is to empower individuals and families to use technology to improve their economic and social well-being, including through equitable access to internet, devices, and learning for seniors, immigrants, low-income families. The program in Utah is run in partnership with the Ballard Center for Social Impact, Google, and Google Fiber.https://fiber.google.com/community/#/programsInternship Director (Apr. 2016-17)• Developed student intern curriculum, assignments, and assessments and integrated IDEO human centered design methodology into learning materials for the program• Supported partner communication with United Way of Utah County, Google Fiber, Provo City Library and School District • Consulted nine student intern teams in their research, design, and implementation phases to bridge the digital divide over two semesters Marketing Intern (Aug. 2015-Apr. 2016)• Coordinated the first national collaborative network across nine local chapters in the United States and organized monthly meetups to provide program updates and share best practices• Developed asset map of Provo-Orem metropolitan area to identify community resources on broadband, devices, and digital literacy education• Assisted in community outreach and marketing for local computer classes for immigrants and low-income seniors at Centro Hispano and Provo City Housing Authority
