Viktor Tanaskovski is a musician, composer, guitarist, and a music teacher born in Skopje, North Macedonia in 1992. He graduated jazz guitar at “Goce Delcev” University in Stip in 2016. In 2022 he finished his Master studies in Applied Research in Music at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Serbia. At the moment, he is a student of Doctoral studies of Polymedia Art at the University of Arts in Belgrade.So far, he has been a part of many music projects based in Skopje. Apart from playing live and teaching guitar online via Guitar Zoom Academy, his main projects are Alembic (an experimental duo formed in 2020) and Minstrel’s Gallery (a Progressive/Art Rock group formed in 2013).The music he composes is an eclectic combination of a wide variety of genres, such as Heavy Rock, Jazz/Fusion, Psychedelia, World Music, Avant-garde influences, etc… So far, he has released two albums with Minstrel's Gallery – “Ignorance leads to Ruin” (2016) and “To…” (2018), as well as a debut, self-titled album with Alembic in 2022. At the moment he is working on the first release with his collective free improvising trio Improof.In addition to music, he is also into painting and poetry. His paintings and drawings have always been a part of his music, either exhibited during live performances, or as a visual accompaniment in the booklets of the albums. His first poetry book was released in 2023.In 2022 he also started the music podcast series entitled DEMObilisation together with Iva Damjanovski.Apart from composing, playing, and teaching music, Viktor has organized many events in his hometown, among which the most notable are the “Acoustic Breakfasts” (autumn 2017 and 2018) and the festival “Synaesthetics” (2018, 2019, 2022, 2024). The idea behind these events was to combine all kinds of arts at the same place in the same time, such as music, poetry, visual arts, film, theater and so on, and to give a chance to young and aspiring artists to promote their art.At the moment, he works as a radio host at Jazz FM 100.8 in Skopje.
