at Prof. Micera Translational Neural Engineering Lab: Integration of TENS and EMG signals in the initial prototype of the bidirectional prosthesisThe upper-limb robotic prosthesis hand (RPH) lacks a non-invasive approach to providing sensory feedback. TENS is one of the non-invasive alternatives to elicit sensations in the phantom limb of an amputee. However, TENS and EMG interference leads to a not robust myolelctric control of the RPH.The aim of the project was to develop a software deep learning-based solution for the management of TENS-produced artifacts in the sEMG signal used for myoelectric control of the robotic hand.During the project, I acquired and analyzed sEMG data, developed several CNN-based models and performed inference, worked with the Lab Streaming Layer, and designed experiments.Master's thesis defense grade: 1.0 (very good)The grading scale ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 5.0 (fail)

MSU, Department of BiophysicsI participated in the project on mathematical modeling of the immune response in Multiple Sclerosis. My aim was to simulate temporal immune response in MS. I processed numerous articles to compile ordinary differential equations illustrating direct and cytokines-mediated interactions of immune cells with neurons. Afterward, I was defining coefficients in the equations using special software.

I joined an internship project at Neukomm’s Lab (UNIL, Switzerland), where I studied intrinsic mechanism of axonal and synaptic survival in Drosophila melanogaster. During the internship, I mastered Drosophila genetics, managed fly crosses to generate wild type and mutants with attenuated axon death, performed optogenetics to assess neuronal activity. Also, I applied antennal ablations to dissect the fruit flies’ neurons, analyzed their grooming behaviors by video, and used RStudio to visualize my findings.

Participated in the research on the specificity of recombinant papain-like wheat protease triticain-α.Performed techniques: measurement of catalytic characteristics of the protein, protein purification, sonication, isolation.
