Everyday a child is either born with the diagnoses of cerebral palsy or receives it within the upcoming year. Cerebral palsy is the cause of brain damage before birth. It results impairment of control over movement. CP is one of the most common causes of chronic childhood disabilities.Since it is a non progressive condition children have to rehabilitate for long periods of time. Facing the same setting, over and over again. Doing this can make it tedious and boring to do, causing for a negative effect towards the rehabilitation process. The consequences of not achieving a good flow in the rehabilitation process are an increase of cost for hospitals, parents and above all unhappiness for the patient involved. Due to falling behind schedule the patient and caregiver have to undergo more hours of rehabilitation to make up for it. As a child this can be received as an unenjoyable experience, while childhood should be in the light of having fun. This we find unfair and decided to do our part in bringing back that joy in ones childhood.With the use of virtual reality and the existing exercise methods we create interactive, motivating and fun worlds for those who miss out of fun to obtain it. Together with gamification principles we change the exercises from being an obstacle to something the patient looks forward to. Why virtual reality?Researches have shown that if a patient uses visualization as a means to re-learn skills it improves the time of obtainment. By immersing the patient in a virtual world we can make the process more challenging, motivating and fun. Hereby creating a positive atmosphere for both the patient and all the parties involved.

We provide information about the ins and outs of competitive gaming, hereby we ensure transparency and supervision so parents and gamers know how to handle gaming in a responsible and healthy way. ECVisualize plays at the highest competitive level within the Benelux. Through our status it is a responsibility to act as an example for all the gamers out there. We expand our position further through intensive work with the e-Sports Association of the Netherlands.
