I am continuing as corporate sustainability coordinator, now in full-time position. My areas of responsibility include sustainability reporting such as CSRD and ESG-risk management contents of our membership services. I am also facilitating the cooperation between different sustainability themes in our team of experts.

I am a freelance social circus instructor at Circus Magenta. In addition to teaching circus skills to a wide variety of age groups with different challenges, I have taught once a week at the Havukoski youth club in Vantaa and coordinated the activities of our circus in that area. I feel that often the participants, such as children, teach me way more than I can teach them. I have found this to be a great motivation for myself.I have learned to meet people from various different backgrounds, observe their traits, and scale and vary exercises to fit them. I have learned to manage group dynamics, have clear instructing and communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. I have prepared hundreds of lesson plans for various purposes and learned different methods to teach to reach different learners. During the years of the pandemic, I taught circus skills remotely and maintained a feeling of community for the participants. Above all, I have learned to improvise, whether arranging a learning environment more suitable or changing plans for the needs of participants.

I started as an intern at Luke, but after the summer, I was invited to continue as a research assistant. My main task was to measure greenhouse gases at spruce sapling sites as part of the TaimiCO2 project. This project aimed to determine when clear-cut areas planted with spruce saplings would transition from being a source of carbon dioxide to a carbon sink. The experiment sites were located around Uusimaa. In addition to measuring greenhouse gases on swamps, I collected grass biomass, prepared samples for analysis, selected trees for measuring above- and below-ground biomass, dug roots of these selected trees, created maps using QGIS, managed data from the loggers, and transferred it to the database, among other various tasks. The work was very diverse and provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the environmental field in Finland. I had the opportunity to closely observe how sustainable solutions to environmental challenges are pursued using scientific methods.

I worked as so-called "sapling ambassador" in a project called "It's about taimi". I gave remote lectures for 9th grade students about the meaning of forests, especially in relation to climate change mitigation. I learned a lot about environmental education and remote lecturing, especially interaction and inclusion remotely. Spreading information of the importance of forests as a source of ecosystem services, renewable raw material and better mental health felt meaningful, and I hope that I promoted these values to young people.

I worked as gardener for two summers at Fri-Tec Oy, which is a company conducting landscape contracting, garden planning and management. My main task was to independently maintain several sites in the Helsinki area, in particular a cemetery in Espoo (Gräsan Uurnalehto) and Gardenia in Viikki. I learned a lot about gardening in general such as planting, plant management, pruning and using gardern power tools such as leaf blower and lawn mower.

After a course utilizing geographic information systems, I found internship place from The Governing Body of Suomenlinna. My principal task was to investigate map-based solutions best suited to present the wide variety of geographic data held by the Governing Body of Suomenlinnna. Within this role I familiarized myself with a wide range of map service solutions, arranged meetings, visited various operators to gather information and negotiated cooperation opportunities. Finally, with my project colleague, I presented the results of our survey to the rest of the work community. In addition I got lots of experience from project management and independent research.

Uusimaa

I worked as an employee at the company Vihertaso Oy via Studentwork. Vihertaso is a specialized landscape contracting company, as such the work was typically outdoors. In this role I learned a lot about constructing and planning public green spaces, yards and gardens for homeowners. I planted and managed plants and trees and used various garden power tools from grass and hedge trimmer to chainsaw and angle grinder.

Haarajoki

I planned and implemented decoration for the workspace in the "Trash Factory" with another trainee. I also made a preliminary plan for the allotment cultivation project.

Raasepori

In this role at Metsähallitus I did customer service and guidance at Ekenäs Visitor Centre, environmental education of preschool children in "Tomtestigen" nature trail and marketing of Ekenäs Visitor Centre. I got valuable experince in environmental education and nature trail quidance.

Oulu

I was asked to continue as an intern in the same VELMU project I worked in summer 2010 (see below). Tasks did not vary much from previous year so I could perform them with better confidence and gather more skill and knowledge to master them.

Oulu

Part of the underwater inventory program VELMU I worked as an intern at the Bay of Bothnia. We worked one week at the time on the see and had accommodation on a small islands during that time. In this role I had a variety of tasks such as recording with an underwater video camera, maintaining equipment, maintaining species database on computer, working as diving assistant, driving smaller motorboats and identification of seabed flora and fauna.

I have studied forestry for one year at Bachelor's level and three years at Master's level at Helsinki University. I am specialized.

Circus Pedagogy

The course gave me good skills to work as a group instructor. Even though the education was emphasized on circus arts, it gave excellent.

Geographic Information Science And Cartography

The course consisted of one month education period in the Helsinki University followed by five months internship in the Governing Body.
