I joined the team of James Jones and Sons Ltd in September 2023 as Group Management Accountant, providing support to the Group Financial Controller and Finance Director, primarily in Month, Quarter and Year end procedures including overseeing month end reporting, managing sales ledger and purchase ledger, prepayments and acrruals. Whilst also providing assistance to the transactional finance team as required.As part of my role within the finance team, I also share in the tasks of monitoring capital expenditure and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, quarterly stock analysis, preparation of vat returns and budgets and forecasts and any other as-hoc support required by the FD or FC.

Working directly with the Finance Director as Management Accountant to the Firm.My role was to provide support the Finance Director in successfully meeting the diverse requirements of the various finance departments, primarily in Month and Year end procedures, helping to create, develop and analyse financial records, subsequently used in preparing updates and reports to assist the Senior Management Team when making strategic business decisions, as well as assisting with the end of Year Audit. I was also lead contact for the Accounts Payable function, maintaining the Purchase Ledger and overseeing postings to the Nominal Ledger. As part of my role, I was also tasked with the implementation of Process Manuals in relation to the finance functions, including implementing a new Practice Management System.

Progressing to the role of Finance Manager in June 2018, with my previous valuable experience working within the finance department of Falkirk Football Club. During which time I was instrumental in achieving Scottish Football Associations Gold Award for the Finance & Administration within a football club.My role was to oversee the running and day to day operations of all finance related matters of Falkirk FC, ensuring all finance records were kept up to date and accurate. My duties included full analysis and updating of management accounts to full completion of month and year end management accounts, providing board members insight into the current financial health and allow for strategic decision making for the company's ongoing success, Purchase and Sales Ledger Management, Banking including full reconciliation of all accounts as well as Full Payroll Administration together with External Payroll Team.As part of my role I also supported the Finance Director in a number of areas including preparation of Budget and Cash Flow data, submission of VAT returns, preparing and participating in the Clubs end of year audit.I was also fortunate to be part of a diverse Events Committee arranging successful concerts and events, such as Rod Stewart, Tom Jones and many more.
