During my Internship, I actively contributed to the investigation of the microstructural characteristics and elemental composition of the Ti-Al-Nb alloy. I conducted meticulous sample preparation, performed a detailed examination using Optical Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and carried out in-depth analysis utilizing Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX), (XRD) and Rietveld Refinement.

Project Title: Development of Austempered Ductile Iron Technology for use in Automobile and Agriculture Industries in IndiaAn industrial research project under the Ministry of Steel, India and the supervision of the former Department Head of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department Dr. Uma Batra was the perfect first step in the long journey of my career.During my involvement in the project focused on the development of Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) technology for use in automobiles and agricultural industries in India, I gained valuable experience and contributed to advancements in materials science and engineering.Working collaboratively with a talented team, we conducted extensive research and experiments to optimize the processing parameters and properties of ADI. Our goal was to enhance the mechanical strength, wear resistance, and durability of ductile iron for applications in the automotive and agricultural sectors.Throughout the project, I actively participated in various activities, including alloy design, heat treatment optimization, microstructural analysis, and mechanical testing. Utilizing advanced techniques such as microscopy, hardness testing, and mechanical property characterization, we assessed the performance and feasibility of ADI for specific applications.This project allowed me to develop a deep understanding of material processing techniques, heat treatment methodologies, and quality control measures. It also honed my analytical and problem-solving skills as we addressed challenges related to alloy composition, heat treatment parameters, and achieving desired mechanical properties.Contributing to the development of ADI technology for the automotive and agricultural industries in India has been a rewarding experience. It has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the practical applications of materials engineering and the impact of research on industrial sectors.
