A professional should ideally be defined by his passion. I am a keen learner and extremely passionate about strategy, marketing, innovation, and new age marketing media (read social media and leveraging online channels to establish and enhance brand presence). Interestingly, this is also what I do at work. Having started my career in marketing and communications with one of India's leading brands in the financial services space, I have played significant roles in content creation, copywriting, web communications and brand building through multiple channels including events, partnerships, strategic alliances et. al. Currently, I am the head of marketing at one of the fastest growing IT companies in India. I am also keenly involved in driving the growth strategy of the organization and ushering in digital transformation initiatives. I am involved in working on the annual business strategy, facilitating sales intelligence, and taking the brand from strength to strength as well as pioneering the efforts to leverage Online channels in general and social media in particular. The various activities undertaken to enhance equity and recall of the brand range from business strategy (especially for venturing into new markets), content strategy, web communications and strategy, social media (which i find very interesting and promising), events, PR and media management, liaising with strategic alliances to enhance brand visibility, internal communications and so on.
