My first job came via campus recruitment during my computer science & engineering studies. The bank's aim, according to the then Business Head of Mortgages, Sunil Rohokale, was to groom young & analytical graduates into leadership positions across the bank.Personally, finance & banking was something I grew up with, watching dad's immaculate planning, organizational, and quick decision-making skills in the volatile SE Asian financial environment, in Treasury & Forex.My role at ICICI, besides making sense of credit information, was to sync objectives of various internal teams - credit, sales, operations & customer service. This learning helped me later, when I got GRS (Grassroot Soccer) to assist DAD (Dream A Dream) develop their life-skills curriculum through soccer.A milestone for our Bank's team 'The Stalwarts', was sanctioning 220 million rupees in terms of individual retail borrowing during the end of the financial year (March 06) - which was a then record haul. It was also during this period that ICICI Bank achieved a leadership position in mortgage business in India. I switched jobs in May 06, at a point when we were being promoted to the role of a 'Branch Sales Manager' in the bank. I realised one could contribute much more through the media's numerous possibilities - and hence began this amazing new media journey codenamed 'Pseudo-Catch22' :)
