Led the implementation of a highly optimized product development organization by driving efficiency everywhere, changing the culture, evolving processes, and recruiting talent. I have pushed all platforms to modernize implementation methodologies, while increasing cybersecurity across the board.Took ownership of a complex, real-time embedded product development in major distress. After implementing major positive changes, my team delivered a 2021 Control Engineering Engineer's Choice Award winner well ahead of the original schedule.Led the scaling of a cloud based application from minimal start up to full production environment through recruiting top talent cloud engineers and implementing a continuous delivery platform environment. The platform has grown to over half a million AUMs and solid service revenues in a short time.Remotely implemented a software team for edge software and gateway products in India from scratch. The team delivered successfully on a major product release within the first year.

In a CTO role, I provided executive program leadership of a company wide new technology initiative across GE based from GE Global Research in NY. The program changed the embedded controls landscape in a company where the major assets all rely on control devices. The modernization effort leveraged research in leading cybersecurity, virtualization, cloud applications, and real-time asset operation optimization. I was a key evangelizer of the complex topics to the multiple GE businesses, while driving the success of the internal programs.GE Global Research has served as the cornerstone of GE innovation for more than a century. • Leading a team of ~70 engineers in all aspects of new product development• Current project is Agile development of leading-edge controller technologies requiring driving creative brainstorming then making it into real product.• Leading hardware teams in low-power consumption, industrially ruggedized computing platforms for factory and process automation (oil & gas platforms, refineries, chemical processes, high-speed packaging, etc.). • Leading embedded firmware teams using VxWorks, C, C++ in developing real-time OS products.

• Organized an Agile team around an innovative new product development involving embedded firmware code on multi-core processors and new electronic hardware designs. The product line includes real time factory automation controllers, industrially hardened PCs, and industrial displays.• The product has been met with unbelievable enthusiasm from customers, distribution channel, and internal sales/application engineers due to the innovative approach.• I took high level input from the commercial team, formed the epics, set the priorities, sketched the mechanical package, and drove the execution along with my scrum master.

• Engineering manager of 30+ engineers - Responsible for new products, customer issues for engineering, overall strategic direction, personnel, project support, customer support, and budget ownership of teams in US, Canada, UK, and India. The team is comprised of software, embedded firmware, hardware, test, QA, and compliance engineers.• Responsible for NPI (new product introduction) developments for embedded control based products and software used to automate process based applications such as chemical plants, oil & gas platforms and refineries, etc. Also develop products for functional safety applications such as emergency shutdown and fire & gas per IEC-61508.• Started role as international bubble assignment as engineering manager to integrate engineering team and product line from a carve-out acquisition based in the UK. Responsible for integration activities including engineering process, production engineering, certifying agency transition, and ongoing engineering projects. Technical manager of 13 member team located in UK and Houston, including firmware, hardware, test, software, and compliance engineers.

• Technical manager of 30-member team plus 21 global indirect reports - Responsible for strategic direction, day-to-day operations, personnel, and budget of the teams in Charlottesville and India. PA Team is responsible for engineering custom testing solutions for industrial automation product lines for new product introductions, obsolescence, and field issue resolution.

• Technical Team Leader and project release leader for projects involving test development. Cisco CCNP certified during this time (Catalyst switches, routers, PIX firewalls).• Project leader for System Interoperability Test Lab creation – a cross-business coordination of the most complex test facility ever attempted within G.E. Fanuc. Project scope ranged from facilities construction for new lab space to the engineering component of designing and implementing the technical aspects. Project team consisted of business technical leaders, managers, application engineers and spanned global sites – Received CEO Operational Excellence Award for this project.
