I have always been driven by the desire to create bridges between the technical field and the artistic expression of cinematography. Back in the early days of the Abyss, Blue Planet, and Titanic designing (and using) both underwater camera and lighting equipment, to the recent history of 3D with films like Avatar, Hugo, and Life of Pi. I am proud to say I am a cinematographer at heart and a design engineer by trade. The new emerging category of virtual environments utilizing the technology of display LED will contribute to the Art of Cinematography in a big way. Fuse Technical Group has the foundation of both talent and equipment to service this emerging category well. I am glad to join the team to bring new designs and implementations that meet the needs of the Cinematographers and their toolset. This is not about gaming, corporate conventions, or concert touring. It is about the artistic approach to making images and how these environments can be among the many tools the cinematographer brings to the production to accomplish their goals.
