Anything is possible ** Given time, money, imagination and the (right) toolsI provided solutions using MS Access, VBA and Excel. When my line manager wanted a quick and easy to run solution for importing data files (text or Excel), processing automatically (validation), updating the data held (userforms) and generating reports (outputting to Excel), I provided different solutions, tailored to the request(s) as required. During my time in Percepta, I - re-created and streamlined a Car Hire process- supported the existing database (Excel>Access) solutions- created new solutions for different ideas- gave different options and created them for ideas to put towards the main IT of the clients- made presentations- assisted in editting a video- assisted in training/encouraging people to use the database or Excel, or in general IT knowledge- automated reporting and emailling- gave lots of filters and sorting options for reports and for processing data- suggested different ways of processing that may help other team membersI have used VBA and API calls to allow MS Access to send emails via a google server (clients used MS Outlook but changed to Google mail).

I helped process the data on a daily basis that was held by the GTCE.This included in writing MS Access VBA code to change Access into an FTP client, to allow me to automatically scan an FTP folder for new files, open them and import them directly into the Access tables. Once in the tables some validation was applied and the data was ready for use.This happened daily at 6am, so that when the users arrived the data was ready for them.

The Highways agency (through Brook Street) provided me with the opportunity to work with MS Excel in a finance team. I programmed in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to automate manipulation of data extracted from an Oracle system.
