Title: Dengue virus induces mitochondrial elongation through impairment of Drp1-triggered mitochondrial fission.• Observed elongation of mitochondria during Dengue virus infection using confocal and electron microscopy, as well as live-cell imaging.• Revealed DENV NS4b and NS3 proteins enrichment in the mitochondrial fraction.• Analyzed mitochondrial respiration (oxygen consumption rate) using Seahorse Analyzer to address mitochondrial function during Dengue virus infection.• Analyzed levels of mitochondrial proteins in sub-cellular fractions by western blot.• Demonstrated that induction of mitochondrial fission reduces viral replication.Other projects: collaboration with Dr. Fitzgerald laboratory (University of Massachusetts Medical School)• Study of lncRNAs profile in primary cells (dendritic cells) infected by different viruses.• Analyze of inflammasome response during Dengue virus infection.

Title: Pastrel, a restriction factor for picorna-like viruses in Drosophila melanogaster.• Identified polymorphisms in pastrel gene correlated with the susceptibility of laboratory control flies to Drosophila C virus infection (collaboration with Pr. Jiggins Laboratory, Cambridge university)• Characterized Pastrel protein as a viral restriction factor by loss- and gain-of-function experiments in vivo and ex vivo.• Constructed deletion mutants to identify the domain conferring antiviral activity.• Determined the step of virus infectious cycle impacted by Pastrel.• Designed a new method to study the topology of Pastrel protein.• Analyzed Pastrel localization in non-infected and infected cells.Other projects:• Analyzed the effect of a persistent viral infection on the susceptibility of flies to pathogens.• Revealed the role of RNA interference in the control of a DNA virus in Drosophila.

Title: Effect of mutations in NS3 and 2K proteins on the pathogenicity of West Nile virus NY99.• Used West Nile virus NY99 infectious clone with mutations introduced in NS3 and/or 2K proteins.• Analyzed the effect of mutations on the infection of murine (Neuro2a) and human (IMR5) neuronal cells in vitro and on the pathogenicity of the virus in vivo in BALB/C mice.

Title: Study of PD1 expression on Treg lymphocytes in HIV-1 positive patients.• Isolated PBMCs and analyzed PD1 expression from Treg population by flow cytometry.

Title: Advantage of PCR on stools for the diagnostic of Adenovirus in patients transplanted by hematopoietic stem cells allograft.• Extracted viral DNA and performed real time qPCR to determine Adenovirus load from stools collected during patients’ hospitalization.• Retrieved virological analysis results and treatment history from patient’s records to demonstrate the advantage of this detection method.
