Hi, My name is Vincent Baugh and I am a recent graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Immunology and Pathogenesis (Infectious Diseases Track). I am a part of the College of Letters and Science which is one of the largest colleges in the university that offers many pathways for STEM related majors and wish to broaden my knowledge and experience in subjects related to biotechnology and immunology. I currently work as a Laboratory Assistant in the Conboy Laboratory at UC Berkeley and conduct in-vitro experiments on mice tissue cells as well as performing various health tests and conditional testing on live laboratory mice. My other extensive work experience includes working as a Manufacturing Associate at BioMarin Pharmaceutical where my responsibilities included assisting in production of medicine geared towards rare genetic diseases by working with large factory-scale bioreactors and having knowledge of biotech manufacturing process and equipment including cell culture, depth and tangential flow filtration, column chromatography, protein purification and formulation and/or buffer and media operations. My undergraduate experience entails working as a laboratory assistant under Dr. Mary West at UC Berkeley, who manages the Quantitative Biosciences Cell and Tissue Analysis Facility on campus, which is responsible for using physics and engineering to unify our understanding of biological systems at all levels of complexity, from atoms and molecules to cells, tissues, and entire living organisms. I am currently searching for professional job opportunities that allow me to gain more experience in dealing with research and/or molecular therapeutics in hopes of pursuing a career in the relative fields.
